Because of the oxalic acid Silver beet should be cooked in boiling water before eating. To prepare Silver Beet fold leaves in half, chop, and rinse Beet. To boil, bring lightly salted water to a boil. When water is at a high boil add beet. Leaving the lid off, bring back to a boil and cook for about 3 minutes. Drain in colander. It is now ready to be eaten. Drizzle with a small amount of olive oil.
